Quattro settembre venerdì ( September 4 Friday)

Daniele picked us up at the airport and took us to his B&B. We had stayed here last year. Really nice. The one thing we have learned that even though you are tired do not go to sleep until later. We walked around and with the recomendation of Daniele we went to Trattoria dell'Orto early at 7:00pm. A  restaurant were the locals go. Since Italians eat late there were only a few people there. La cena è stata la migliore (dinner was the best).  We were really taken back by the quality of food. Primo abbiamo mangiato insalata di polpo caldo (First we ate octopus warm salad). The chunks of octopus were big but juicy, tasty and tender. The best octopus salad we have every had. Secondo Dow ha mangiato spezzatino di cinghiale e spinaci (Second course Dow had wild boar stew with spinach). Bob ha mangiato taglioline al tartufo (taglioline pasta with truffles) The wild boar melted in your mouth and there was a lot of it. The taglioline is a thicker pasta than spaghetti and cooked perfectly. You could tell that is was fresh pasta and the truffles, oh the truffles! If you have never tried fresh truffles go and try them.

To bed at 9:00 pm with happy stomachs.
