Sette settembre Lunedì ( September 7 Monday)

Ci siamo alzati presto per fare le valigie e prepararci per partire. Abbiamo dovuto lasciare il nostro B&B prima delle 10:00. Abbiamo camminato alla stazione di treni in ventiquattro minuti.  (We got up early to pack and get ready to leave. We had to be out of our B&B by 10:00 am. The walk to the train station is 24 minutes).

The train leaves at 11:38 am so we had plenty of time. Since there are over 15 tracks you have to watch the schedule board carefully. We have been to the Florence train station a lot so we know the program.

The train ride took about an hour and 20 minutes. Called Debora (our host) when we were inside the walls. She met us and took us to our apartment. We saw it last year and quickly reserved it. It is better than we remembered.


Quick walk outside to buy cheese,wine, bread and meats. Sat on our patio for appetizers.


Evening dinner at Cantine Bernardini. Per primo Dow ha presto trippa su crema di borlotto (veal tripe stewed and served on cream of pinto beans) e Roberto ha presto tordelli di barca (home made ravioli filled with sea bass). Secondo Dow ha presto gnudi burro e salvia (typical tuscan dumplings) e Roberto ha presto cuore di baccala' tostato (fillet of codfish with spinach beets and raisins.
